Atsuko Muroga

Atsuko Muroga is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Education Policy Research, Harvard University and a Strategic Data Project Federal DoE Fellow. She has a Ph.D. in Economics and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is an affiliated Research Associate of the Center for Benefit-Cost Studies of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Atsuko’s research interests lie at the intersection of microeconomics and child development. She is passionate about program evaluation research that provides insights regarding ways to improve the well-being and equity of children and families. Prior to her doctoral program, she worked for the World Bank for about 6 years where she was involved in various research and investment projects related to education and youth development in Cambodia, Mongolia, Morocco, Iraq, Tunisia, and Vietnam. Atsuko holds an M.A. in Economics and Education from Columbia University, an M.A. in Administrative and Policy Studies from the University of Pittsburgh, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Soka University of America.
